Michelle has supported the Torres Strait Regional Authority’s Land and Sea Management Unit (LSMU) since early 2009 by facilitating our annual planning forums. Michelle has seen the growth of the Unit from 20 or so staff to approximately 70 today, and has taken us on an amazing journey of reflection, planning and bonding as a team. Michelle’s ability to work with the energy in the group, to distill key issues and priorities, and to depict things visually, has been very effective in the cross-cultural and dynamic environment in which we work. Michelle has also supported professional development opportunities for our staff, including Indigenous staff members, by providing training in facilitation techniques and tools, and co-facilitation of forums by LSMU staff. We have no hesitation in recommending Michelle in any circumstances where a group requires a dynamic, engaging, democratic, flexible, energetic and creative facilitation style, to get the best value out of a forum and its participants, and to achieve outcomes that a group feels a true sense of ownership over.
