Working with Alan Chen of Sh8peshifters is an awesome experience. He really is one of a kind. Alan possesses the rare talent of being able to listen to his clients’ goals, requirements, limitations and fears. For UTS’s Respect.Now.Always. program he has live scribed events, researched and produced bespoke digital assets, beautiful images and community artefacts that we use regularly with our students, staff and senior leadership team. So glad we chose to work with Alan - it's really opened my eyes to how powerful visual storytelling is! Alan was able to create a compelling 1-page graphic illustration, distilling the key themes of our interviews with public servants who were placing relationships, care and complexity at the core of their work. From the start, Alan made sure he understood our goals, key messages, target audience, and use cases for the illustration. He used that understanding to create compelling visual metaphors, presenting our work in a new light, and really complementing an accompanying blog. In particular, we really valued how transparent the process was - Alan would describe the reasons behind artistic choices, and was open to feedback in between drafts. Feedback on Alan's piece has been great, and we're really happy with the final product. We'll definitely be looking for ways to bring Alan on board again - can't recommend him enough!
