Sam has a background in graphic design and is an award-winning Illustrator who has published over 20 children's books with various publishers. She has been graphic recording for 4 years. ‘Samantha joined the ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation for their Annual Symposium on Holistic Transitions in March 2025 on Arrernte Country in Mparntwe. Over the day, Samantha created an engagement wall that drew out the major themes covered over a day long workshop from: finding strengths, working from the ground up, understanding what matters and for whom, and how to protect what is important in Indigenous Knowledges and new ways of understanding. The engagement wall reflected these topics with depth and colour. It was beautifully represented with local landscapes of stones (‘we are strong together’) and people sitting together (‘sharing and connecting’) using the local colour palettes of this region such as warm oranges, greens and grounded colours. Coolamon Creative are a reliable and much valued consultant by Lowitja Institute. We have worked with Coolamon Creative many times on various events of ours, from roundtables to engagements and consultations. The graphic recordings they have produced for us are a crucial part of our knowledge translation, or ‘post event’ promotion and sharing of knowledge. Lowitja Institute have engaged Samantha Campbell from Coolamon Creative’s services on a variety of different projects and topics, including climate change and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and cultural safety.
