Team up with IAF Oceania and do some graphic recording for one (or more!) of their upcoming online Masterclass events.

A powerful membership match

The International Association of Facilitators in the Australia / New Zealand / Pacific region (IAF Oceania) do a great job at building awareness and capability for facilitation in various ways, and are keen to team up with GRA (as are we!) for our members’ mutual benefit. After all, what better partnership could you have in the room (or the Zoom) between a facilitator and a graphic recorder!

A great opportunity to flex your skills

As part of their range of events, IAF Oceania are hosting a schedule of online Masterclasses over the year (with various topics to do with facilitation), and they are looking for graphic recorders to scribe each of those sessions. This is a great opportunity for you to flex your skills, increase your knowledge and experience about facilitation, and network a bit too.

Here are the upcoming Masterclass dates (all times are AEST):

  • Wednesday 26 May 2026 at 5.00 pm
  • Wednesday 8 July 2026 at 10.00 am
  • Wednesday 22 July 2026 at 6.00 pm
  • Wednesday 12 August at 6.00 pm
  • Wednesday 19 August at 6.00 pm
  • Wednesday 26 August at 10.00 am
  • Wednesday 9 September at 6.00 pm
  • Gisela Wendling – Wednesday 16 September 10.00 am

The visual recordings that have been done so far have been incredibly well received. IAF Oceania been sharing them on LinkedIn and featuring them in their newsletter, and they’ve generated great engagement.

How to get involved

The best and fastest way to get involved is to contact David Harry Spark, Deputy Chair of IAF Oceania, on david@sparkwize.com.au or LinkedIn. You’ll have a short briefing chat to established shared understanding of what’s involved, turn up a bit earlier before the scheduled session for a tech check, and then scribe the session for the hour.

First in first served!

What do you get out of it?

This scribing work is done free of charge, since this is all about members of two non-profit associations helping each other out, for mutual benefit. Plus, nobody from IAF Oceania is making any money out of this.

That said, there are some great opportunities for you:

  • You get to show others the magic of turning conversations into visual summaries!
  • You can have your name and website (or other contact details on your work)
  • IAF Oceania will showcase your work plus your contact details on their website for up to 12 months
  • IAF Oceania will share your work on their socials (including LinkedIn groups) plus their newsletter, mentioning and linking to you
  • You will learn a ton of great stuff about one or more topics in the facilitation space
  • You will build relationships with the IAF Oceania crew, plus potential contacts with the masterclass attendees

If you’re thinking about the merits of doing graphic recording for no (or little) monetary value, this page on our website can help.

This opportunity is open to GRA members, so make the most of it!
