This time last year we made a big announcement that GRA Professional Membership would become even more useful—members would have access to both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance, just for being a member.

While this was a huge benefit for our members, the scope of the insurance at the time included a very narrow definition of services. Basically, it included in-person graphic recording, but didn’t specifically mention remote scribing, nor did it include any of the other services that our members often provide, such as:

• studio illustration
• animated video production
• training

Well, I’m happy to report that this has changed. As of this month, the GRA Professional Member insurance policies have been updated to include all of the above.

For a sole trader, insurance is often a huge financial hurdle. We’re very proud to make a Professional Membership with the GRA even more valuable by expanding the scope of our insurance policy coverage.

If you’re working as a professional graphic recorder, it’s a no-brainer to become a Professional Member. And even if you’re not, the benefits of Associate Membership are bountiful anyway. And both membership levels get you a discount at the upcoming VizConf conference.
